AIA CC honors Irving J. Gill with 2017 Maybeck Award
Foundation says posthumous recognition extends the
excitement and importance of its efforts to educate the
public on the significance of Gill
 (San Diego, CA, September 6, 2017)
— Since 1992, the American Institute of Architects
California Council’s (AIACC) Maybeck Award has honored the
lifetime achievements of notable and influential
California-based architects. In 2017, the association is
honoring Irving J. Gill with this prestigious
award. Gill is the first architect to receive the award
posthumously. James B. Guthrie, AIA, founder and
chair of the Irving J. Gill Foundation, will accept the
award on Mr. Gill' behalf at the AIACC's Monterrey
Design Conference on October 13, 2017.

one of California’s most influential architects,” says
architect Guthrie. “Based on the success of last year’s
symposium, we feel there’s such a good momentum of
interest building around Gill’s work and career, and the
